Purchased to revamp my teen's bedroom. As others say the metal looks more like wood than metal and is a fairly subdued color-wise and not yellow at all. Assembled it myself and every bolt screwed in easily as they were aligned perfectly in the frame threads. Item is solid and does not have that ugly obstructive center leg that so many cheap frames have which is a plus point to me. Slats fit well and are perfectly supportive. The legs have hard plastic plugs in the end of them and seem fine on wood floor.Using about a 13 inch high mattress creates quite a nice height for the bed and the space underneath is quite usable should you so wishMy one complaint has nothing to do with the bed but it comes wrapped in bubble wrap and foam. So while it arrived without damage in a big heavy box i just wish that the packaging materials were more green and did not leave me with a ton of plastic which, if I wasn't reusing, would end up in a landfill. Why not design the shipping box using cardboard spacers and sleeves for the frame? Heck if it added $20 to the cost I'd pay it gladly and the company could appear more environmentally consciousI have had this bed for about a year. It's sturdily built - the wooden slats work perfectly with standard and foam mattresses quite well. The height allows for a good amount of under bed storage. It was pretty easy to assemble. After about 6 months, I noticed that the washers that came with the hardware started to break in half. These are the washers used to steady the bolts to connect the pieces. They are quite brittle, in fact. Now that I have had the bed for almost a year, about half the washers have cracked and popped off, and the bed makes alot of noise with any movement on it. We are replacing them today with stainless steel washers we got from Ace hardware. While trying to remove the washers that have not broken off, we have found them stuck on, so we have added washers to those in the event they also crack and pop off. We don't notice any issues with the included bolts or other parts of the bed, so I will say, over all, a good purchase.**Also, after having this for a few months, I found other places that had this bed at a much better price. Shop around before you buy.The older I get, the more I appreciate simple, functional design which perfectly describes this bed frame. I wanted a frame that was well made, strong, and elevated from the floor enough to easily clean underneath. This one meets all that criteria with the added bonus of no center support leg to clean around. Assembly was very simple and straightforward with the exception of the middle bar that was somewhat tedious to secure, but not of any serious consequence. The slats fit perfectly, roll out as one interconnected unit and adhere with velcro onto the frame. The fact this is a steel frame with a middle steel support bar means you never have to worry about ample support of your mattress or the need to add box springs. The finish on the frame is a very attractive, subdued bronze/brass finish which enables you to leave it exposed if you desire. The frame is also machined to allow the attachment of a headboard. If you are looking for a simple, elegant, strong, well made bed frame, I highly recommend you give this one serious consideration. One of the side rails had a twist of about 2mm so I had to use a rubber hammer to get one end in. The resulting seam between the end piece and the side piece looked bad it was obviously out of square. The side with the twist had a bad paint job like it had overspray on it, and didn't feel as smooth and the same as the others. I was able to improve the roughness with a scotch brite pad. About half the slats were bowed upward, pulling away from the velcro on the sides. Every time I moved on the mattress I would hear velcro undoing until I stopped moving. The allen wrench that came with it was poor quality steel and began rounding over I had to use my own allen wrench for the last 4 bolts. It took a long time to be shipped to me.I added a star because the company has good customer service and is sending replacement slats. I may have just gotten a bad one.I like it. It's sturdy, looks nice and easy to assemble. I'm docking one star out because it initially squeaked at the joints. Fixing it required spraying silicone spray (or wd40 if you have it) to quiet the noise. I initially tried tightening the bolts more then putting some treadloc (red) but neither removed the squeaking noises. I didn't really want to tighten it to death grip levels for fear of stripping off the nuts. The silicone spray appears to have done the trick and the squeaking has disappeared.Just squeaks like crazy when using it for activities other than sleeping.Only 4 stars cause this isn’t made in the US. Other than that, it was super easy to assemble, looks very handsome with my bedroom color scheme (sages & creams), and is sturdy enough to use my box spring as well as my mattress. Had a very comfortable first night’s sleep!Sturdy, easy to assemble and does not squeak. Took less than 20 minutes to put together. The only thing is it's not as GOLD as it is in the photo it is definitely brushed and slightly darker but we are happy with the quality overallVery pleased with my purchase.Assembly was fairly easy but you should have someone help you as it would be difficult to get things lined up otherwise. The finish looks great as well and has held up to use, I've owned this for a year. The bed isn't too heavy and can be moved by one person with little effort (depending on what your floor finish is) but at the same time it stays put and doesn't move around should you be tossing and turning through out the night. The only real negative is that the slats are level with the bed frame and I noticed that my mattress does move a little bit. I do use a mattress protector which is quite smooth so perhaps that's the reason the mattress moved.Easy to assemble and very sturdy. You can’t go wrong with this piece.
